I've been interviewing a few of the artists (as you've already seen), but I'm also slated to work with a number of other artists over the course of the next week. I've got a lot of questions at the ready, but I thought I'd open up the floodgates for suggestions from you guys, my lovable readers!
Today, I've got Croatia (Daria Kinzer - Celebrate), Lithuania (Evelina Sasenko - C'est Ma Vie), and Greece (Loukas Yiorkas and Stereo Mike - Watch my Dance) on my roster. Tomorrow, I've got Ukraine (Mika Newton - Angels) and Cyprus (Christos Mylordos - San aggelos s'agapisa). Wednesday, I have Bulgaria (Poli Genova - Na Inat), Romania (Hotel FM - Change), Belarus (Anastasiya Vinnikova - I Love Belarus), and Latvia (Musiqq - Angel in Disguise). Thursday's Switzerland (Anna Rossinelli - In Love for a While), Saturday might be Serbia (Nina - Caroban), and Sunday I've got Spain (Lucía Pérez - Que Me Quiten lo Bailao) and Italy (Raphael Gualazzi - Madness of Love).

ReplyDeleteThe escKAZ vignettes preceding each interview are rather loud compared to the interview itself. Is there anything your friends at escKAZ can do about it?

ReplyDelete1. Ask the people if they think they are going to win.
2. Ask Bulgaria why they chose to sing in Bulgarian and not in English (that would be a really interesting question). Apply this to Spain as well, if possible. :P
3. Ask Mika Newton how she felt about the Ukrainian national selection controversy!
4. Ask Lithuania why they chose to sing in French.
5. Ask Italy how he feels about being the first Italian back in eurovision since the 90's.
6. Also ask them besides their own song, which is there favorite. =D
You will have to let me think about this! Meanwhile, make sure you have some strategy to perk up our Cypriot guy; he seems overcome by ennui.

It seems to be just the interview videos. I checked out Evelina singing Padam Padam (excellent performance, by the way, that makes me want to see her do well even more), and the vignette seemed at a reasonable volume. On the interview videos, though, I have to lower the volume during the vignette, than raise it again for the interview!
ReplyDeleteJack: Poli Genova and her co-writers tried a few times to translate "Na Inat" into English, but it never satisfied them as much as the original Bulgarian did.
ReplyDeleteStefanos: Christos was actually a pretty nice guy! He`s very chill, and still quite new to the whole idea of fame. His voice is great, though!
